Mr Rob Stirling joins the Carey Harrisdale Leadership team in 2018

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Rob Stirling to the role of Assistant Principal (Curriculum) in the Secondary School.

Rob Stirling B.A. (UWA), Dip. Ed (Curtin), MACEL brings to Carey extensive teaching and leadership experience, which includes his role as an Assistant Principal at Kingsway Christian College, and most recently as a 10 year Principal at the well respected Rehoboth Christian College.

“The Carey ethos resonates with my values and beliefs about Christian education, and our roles as educators in the lives of the students that we teach,” Mr Stirling says, “I’m excited to be appointed to this [Assistant Principal (Curriculum)] position at Carey, and am looking forward to working with the high caliber of Carey leaders.”

Mr Stirling’s role compliments Secondary’s Principal Mr Brenden Gifford together with Dr. Carolyn Montgomery as Assistant Principal (Pastoral Care).

Mr Stirling’s leading passion is to best prepare young people for their future.

“Some elements of curriculum that are a high priority for me include the encouragement towards creativity and the use of technology. I would suggest that creativity is an aspect of the image of God and illustrates His abundance and design. As we consider the world that we are preparing our students for, both their present and future require versatility and are technologically rich environments. I see technology as a brilliant tool, rather than an end in itself.”

A believer in lifelong learning, Mr Stirling is currently undertaking a part-time Masters of Educational Leadership course (Morling College).  His interests also include: Collecting Books, Chess, Philately and Shopping. Mr Stirling is married to Sue who is an Early Childhood Education teacher, and Practicum teacher supervisor at ECU, and they have two children, Scott and Jordan. Rob and Sue currently fellowship at Hillsong Church Perth.
