"Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith...Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." (Hebrews 10.22a, 23-25)

We call our times together at Carey Celebrations because of this marvelous fact that Jesus is alive and well on planet earth. His life on earth, his death on the cross, burial, and his resurrection have shown once and for all that God is real and is in charge. He sends the Holy Spirit to live in those who put their confidence in him.

All this is on public record in God's book, the Bible. The big story of the Bible is that God is King, and his Kingdom is among us! Jesus keeps saying to us all "Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand." This invitation to turn our backs from our sinful way of life, and step with confidence in Jesus into a new life with God is good news for all of us!

Continuing on a practice that's been going on at least three millennia, we use music as we pray and "draw near to God" all together.
